# Google Search Console

URL: https://pulsora.co/docs/seo/search-console

Connect Google Search Console to see your real Google keywords, clicks, impressions and rankings, next to the revenue each query brings.

The **SEO** tab of each site shows your Google Search performance from Google Search Console: the queries people searched, how often you appeared, how often they clicked and where you ranked. Pulsora joins it to your own revenue data, so you can see which searches bring paying customers.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

- The site is verified in [Google Search Console](https://search.google.com/search-console). A domain property (`sc-domain:example.com`) or a URL-prefix property both work.
- You are an owner or admin of the Pulsora team.

## Connect [#connect]

1. Open the site in Pulsora and go to **SEO**.
2. Click **Connect with Google** and sign in with the Google account that can see the property.
3. Allow read-only access to Search Console. Pulsora asks for the `webmasters.readonly` scope and nothing else.

Back in Pulsora, the property that matches the site's domain is picked for you: the domain property first, then `https://` and `https://www.` URL prefixes. If none matches, choose one from the list.

## Import and sync [#import-and-sync]

- On connect, Pulsora imports the last 16 months, which is all the history Google keeps. The page shows progress live and fills in month by month.
- Every day Pulsora re-imports the last 4 days. Google's data lags 2 to 3 days, so the newest date in the report is usually two or three days ago.

## The report [#the-report]

Pick 7 days, 28 days, 90 days or 12 months. Every period ends on the latest day Google has data for and is compared with the period before it.

| Figure | What it is |
| --- | --- |
| Clicks | Clicks from Google Search results to your site. |
| Impressions | How often your pages appeared in results. |
| CTR | Clicks divided by impressions. The change is in percentage points. |
| Avg. position | Average ranking, weighted by impressions. Lower is better. |
| Est. revenue | See below. |

Below the chart:

- **Keywords**: queries or pages, ranked by clicks.
- **Opportunities**: queries with an average position between 4 and 20 and the most impressions, with the page that ranks for each. A small push to the first page pays off most here.

## Estimated revenue [#estimated-revenue]

Google does not tell anyone which query a visitor typed, so revenue per query is an estimate:

1. Pulsora takes revenue in the period from sessions whose first pageview came from Google.
2. It credits that revenue to the session's landing page.
3. It splits each page's revenue across the queries that sent clicks to that page, in proportion to their clicks.

Estimated revenue needs [revenue tracking](https://pulsora.co/docs/revenue/overview). Without it, the column shows a dash.

## Disconnect [#disconnect]

Use **Disconnect Search Console** at the bottom of the SEO tab. Pulsora revokes its access with Google and deletes the imported data. You can also remove Pulsora from your [Google account permissions](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).

**Change Google account** connects again, with another account or after access expired.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| No verified properties | Add and verify the site in Search Console, then connect again. |
| Google rejected access | Access was revoked or expired. Click **Reconnect**. |
| A property you expected is missing | Sign in with a Google account that has at least restricted access to it. |
