# Goals and funnels

URL: https://pulsora.co/docs/core/goals-and-funnels

Count the visitors who reach a page or send an event, see where they drop off on the way, and how much revenue each step brings.

Goals and funnels live in the **Goals** tab of each site. They work from the pageviews and events Pulsora already records, so there's nothing to install. A goal or funnel you add today also counts visits from before you added it.

## Goals [#goals]

A goal is one of these:

- **Page visit**: a path, like `/pricing`. Use `*` as a wildcard: `/blog/*` matches `/blog/launch` and `/blog/2026/recap`. Paths start with `/`. Other characters, including `%` and `_`, match literally.
- **Custom event**: the exact name you send with `pulsora.event()`, like `signup`. Names are case sensitive, so `Signup` doesn't match `signup`.

For each goal in the selected date range, Pulsora shows:

- **Visitors**: unique visitors who reached the goal at least once.
- **Conversions**: every matching pageview or event, counting repeats.
- **Rate**: visitors who reached the goal as a share of all visitors.
- **Revenue**: revenue from the visitors who reached the goal, counted from their first hit until the end of the range. It needs [revenue tracking](https://pulsora.co/docs/revenue/overview).

The top 5 goals also show on the **Analytics** tab.

## Funnels [#funnels]

A funnel is 2 to 8 ordered steps. Each step is a page visit or a custom event, with an optional label.

A visitor counts for a step when they reach it at or after the time they reached the step before, inside the selected date range. Someone who opens `/pricing` and only later visits `/` counts for a `/` → `/pricing` funnel's first step, not its second.

For each step you get:

- **Visitors** and the conversion from the step before and from the first step.
- **Drop-off**: visitors who reached the step before but not this one.
- **Revenue**: revenue from the visitors who reached the step, counted from the moment they reached it.

Funnels follow visitors, not sessions. Pulsora starts a new session on every full page load, so a session can't follow someone across pages on a site without client-side navigation. See [how Pulsora counts visitors](https://pulsora.co/docs/data-privacy/how-it-works).

## Limits [#limits]

- 25 goals and 10 funnels per site.
- Names up to 100 characters, paths and event names up to 255.
- Owners, admins and members can add, edit and delete goals and funnels. Viewers can see them.
